This post is based within the Advice Shop where the successful candidate will work to promote financial inclusion and work in partnership to develop actions to mitigate poverty locally.

Funded through the Scottish Governments Child Poverty Accelerator Fund West Lothian Council is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Research Coordinator to bring together learning from across West Lothian, Glasgow and East Renfrewshire, and engage with local partners within West Lothian to improve community engagement.

The post holder will co-ordinate various engagement activities within communities which have been identified through the Child Poverty Index Model and gather insights into any barriers that may be affecting these communities in accessing the support available. This post will aim to improve community engagement by understanding the factors that may be limiting current uptake in targeting those identified as having unmet need.

We are looking for someone with experience in a customer focused environment with a view of improving services and reducing poverty as well as excellent communication, organisational and partnership-working skills. Experience of developing projects and working collaboratively with stakeholders is also essential together with the ability to analyse information and prepare reports for a range of audiences.

The post holder should also have a high level of research and analytical skills. Experience in organising events and delivering training is also desirable.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to tackling poverty in West Lothian and improving outcomes for local people and communities.

We are keen to employ a diverse workforce that reflects the people of Scotland. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and particularly from groups currently under-represented, including people with disabilities, those from minority ethnic communities or from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
