Position Summary: This course provides an introduction to clinical group work. The history and evolution of social group work is reviewed. Emphasis is placed on the application of basic knowledge and skills to clinical group work. This includes consideration of stages of group development and other group dynamics, therapeutic factors in groups and generic group work skills. An introduction to the application of various clinical theories to group work is also provided.
Qualifications – Required Academic Degree: Master’s Degree
Qualifications – Required Discipline: Social Work or related
Qualifications – Required Areas of Specialization: PhD Degree an asset. Eligibility for appointment to the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies is required to teach graduate courses.
