Personal Support Worker (PSW) Ontario, Canada Long-Term Contract Positions Onsite — 24/7 Rotating Shifts (Days, Afternoons, Nights, Weekends, Holidays) About the Opportunity:
We are recruiting certified Personal Support Workers for long-term contract positions within Ontariogovernment-operated institutional facilities across multiple regions. If you are a PSW looking for a professional, well-compensated government contract with 24/7 scheduling in a structured institutional environment, this is your opportunity.
What You'll Be Doing:- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including feeding, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, and mobility support
- Monitor patients' health status and report observations to the supervising nurse or physician
- Assist with medication reminders and delegated care tasks as directed by the clinical team
- Document care activities, chart changes in patient condition, and maintain accurate medical records
- Respond to emergencies and support the clinical team with urgent care situations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional care environment in accordance with facility standards
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary care team in an institutional setting
- Valid PSW certificate from an accredited Ontario PSW program (current)
- Availability for 24/7 rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and statutory holidays — this is mandatory
- Ability to pass a standard criminal record check before assignment commencement
- Physical capability to assist with patient lifts, personal care, and mobility support
- Reliable transportation to Ontario institutional facility locations
- Comfort working in a structured, secure institutional environment
- Basic documentation and medical record-keeping proficiency
- Prior correctional, youth justice, or government institutional setting experience
- Experience supporting individuals with mental illness, addictions, or complex social needs
- Delegated controlled acts training (catheter care, wound care)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Bilingual English/French
