The New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program (EMP), often known as the "hospital without walls," has operated under the simple philosophy of helping New Brunswickers receive the care they need in the places where they are healthiest and happiest - their homes and communities. EMP makes a difference in the lives of those it serves by drastically reducing hospital admissions and greatly increasing patient satisfaction with its level of health care.
As part of EMP, your role is vital in our province's overall health. Join an integrated, multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals, dedicated to providing New Brunswickers with outstanding, highly coordinated primary health care.
JOB SUMMARY As a member of the interdisciplinary EMP team, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing quality patient care within the scope of professional LPN practice to patients and families throughout their life span.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Successful completion of an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nurses
Active registration with ANBLPN;
Minimum of three years recent medical/surgical, palliative care and wound care experience in an acute care setting;
Demonstrated education and experience related to medication administration, phlebotomy and physical assessment;
A good driving record with a valid New Brunswick Class 5 Driver's License;
Have a current CPR Level C certification or be prepared to obtain within 3 months;
Ability to work efficiently as a member of the team and strong interpersonal skills, good judgment and decision making skills;
Support student placements initiatives;
Able to work all shifts as assigned, maintaining a good attendance record;
A high regard for confidentiality; and
Submit a valid and clean criminal record check.
