Position: Teacher of Computer Science and ICT September 2026

About the role:

We are seeking a motivated and innovative Teacher of Computer Science to join a forward‑thinking secondary school in Batley from September 2026
. This long‑term role is offered on a full‑time basis
, though the school is open to considering part‑time hours or a job‑share arrangement for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and contribute to a dynamic and growing department.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging Computer Science lessons across Key Stage 3, with the potential to teach Key Stage 4 depending on experience and departmental needs. You will play a key role in developing students’ digital literacy, computational thinking, and problem‑solving skills. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will contribute to curriculum planning, assessment strategies, and enrichment opportunities that enhance students’ learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons in Computer Science that motivate and challenge learners
  • Teach across KS3
    , with opportunities for KS4 depending on experience
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work, resources, and digital learning initiatives
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
  • Participate in CPD, departmental meetings, and whole‑school activities
  • Support extracurricular or enrichment activities related to computing and technology
Pre‑requisites:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science and related digital disciplines
  • Experience teaching KS3
    ; KS4 experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom‑management skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and ongoing professional development
  • Flexibility to work full‑time, part‑time, or as part of a job‑share arrangement
