Primary Teaching Assistant

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a mainstream Primary School based in Dewsbury, who are looking to appoint a Primary Teaching Assistant. The school provides education for primary-aged pupils and is looking for an enthusiastic and supportive individual to work with children across Key Stage 1 / KS1.

The school is looking to take on a Primary Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from September, with a particular focus on supporting phonics and early reading within KS1. The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will work alongside the class teacher to support pupils with their learning, deliver phonics activities and help create a positive classroom environment.

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is desirable
• Experience working with children within a primary school setting
• Experience supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 / KS1
• Strong knowledge and experience of phonics and early reading
• A positive and proactive approach to supporting learning
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
