About Toups & Co.Toups & Co. is a Louisiana-based legal consulting and contracting company providing comprehensive case management and operational support to personal injury law firms.
Our team operates differently from a traditional law office. With dedicated departments for intake, pre-litigation, litigation, medical records, and liens, we work collaboratively to keep cases moving efficiently from intake through resolution.
We value initiative, accountability, attention to detail, and people who take pride in producing quality work.
The PositionWe're looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented Medical Records Coordinator to join our Prairieville team.
Our Medical Records Department plays a critical role in keeping cases moving. This position is responsible for requesting, tracking, obtaining, and organizing medical records and billing documentation throughout the life of a personal injury claim.
The ideal candidate is persistent with follow-up, comfortable managing a high volume of requests, and understands that outstanding medical documentation can directly impact case progression and resolution.

Coordinate with our pre-litigation, litigation, and liens departments to ensure necessary documentation is available as cases progress.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA requirements and applicable confidentiality standards.
Identify and address delays or obstacles before they impact case progression.
QualificationsPrevious experience in medical records retrieval, personal injury law, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medical billing, and healthcare documentation is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple requests, prioritize competing deadlines, and consistently follow through.
Proficiency with case management software, particularly Filevine, is a plus.
Comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
What We're Looking ForSomeone who understands that requesting a record is only the beginning. Following up, identifying what's missing, resolving obstacles, and getting the documentation into the file is what actually gets the job done.
We want someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities, stays organized without constant oversight, and recognizes that their work is an essential part of moving cases toward resolution.
