Education Consultant Supervisor serves as a key leadership role within the Office of Assessments, Accountability, and Analytics, responsible for strengthening the operational backbone that enables strategic, high-impact work across the division. Reporting to the Education Division Director, this role functions as a trusted partner and thought collaborator, translating priorities into coordinated systems, processes, and plans that support both senior leadership and the broader Office.
This position oversees the Office’s operational functions which includes, but is not limited to, budget and procurement strategy, vendor coordination, hiring and onboarding structures, governance work groups, project alignment, and standard operating procedures. This position does this while managing and developing staff who execute day-to-day work. Success in this role requires strong systems thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to operate at both a granular and enterprise level, ensuring that leadership time and attention are freed for strategic decision-making.

- Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and sustaining operational systems (e.g., budgeting, procurement, hiring, onboarding, or governance processes) that support strategic leadership priorities in a complex organization
- Proven ability to translate senior leadership priorities into coordinated plans, timelines, and decision-ready materials that enable effective execution by others
- Experience coordinating budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships within formal governance, compliance, or approval structures, including working across IT, data, or procurement functions
- Successful experience managing and directing work through staff and partners, including delegating day-to-day execution while maintaining accountability for outcomes
- Strong systems-thinking and communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively at both a detailed, task-level and a division- or enterprise-wide level
Nine years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus six years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus six years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Job Duties:- Serve as the operational and strategic partner to the Education Division Director, supporting division-wide planning, prioritization, and execution across the Office of Assessments, Accountability, and Analytics
- Coordinate budget development, monitoring, and planning activities for the division, including preparing materials and recommendations for leadership review and navigating agency fiscal protocols
- Lead and coordinate procurement and contract strategy, serving as the primary liaison with internal partners (e.g., Office of Technology Services, IT Governance, Data Governance, procurement staff) and external vendors
- Oversee vendor relationships and contract performance, ensuring alignment with division priorities, timelines, and compliance requirements
- Direct and support hiring, onboarding, and staffing processes, including coordinating recruitment activities and establishing clear structures for onboarding and role clarity
- Develop, maintain, and oversee standard operating procedures and operational documentation to promote consistency, clarity, and sustainability across division functions
- Provide day-to-day direction and supervision to assigned staff, delegating operational work while maintaining accountability for deliverables and outcomes
- Coordinate administrative operations in partnership with the division’s administrative assistant, ensuring effective scheduling, workflow management, and internal communication
- Prepare decision-ready materials, briefings, and recommendations for senior leadership to support timely and informed decision-making
- Participate in cross-office and cross-agency collaboration to support operational alignment, governance requirements, and strategic initiatives impacting assessment, accountability, and data work
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.
Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
