TRC is seeking one or more temporary, on call Environmental Inspector(s) (EI) to provide environmental monitoring and inspection during construction of a FERC-regulated LNG facility in Cameron, Louisiana.

The EI’s primary responsibilities will be to monitor construction activities and ensure they are performed in compliance with the environmental conditions of the FERC Order and other relevant federal, state, and local permits, authorizations, clearances, and approvals, as well as construction-phase plans requiring environmental compliance such as the Project-specific Plan and Procedures. The EI will routinely communicate with construction contractors regarding compliance with permit conditions, monitoring activities, and non-compliance issues and statement of compliance holds.

The EI will review pre-construction documentation relating to applicable permit conditions such that they can readily serve as a resource to construction contractors. They will perform their duties across the Project infrastructure and provide daily assistance to construction contractors as it pertains to construction activity within the authorized limits.

The EI’s duties may evolve as the Project progresses; however, several key duties include the following:

• Develop and host compliance training – Trainings will be provided on a regular basis to new contractors and visitors, and these trainings will be delegated to and facilitated by the EI. This includes the identification of appropriate personnel to execute trainings in compliance with the Project requirements. The goal is to ensure employees, contractors, and visitors are appropriately trained in the Project’s relevant environmental requirements and the Client’s commitment to compliance.
  
  The EI team will ensure the training program complies with environmental federal, state and local laws, codes, and permit standards. The EI team will ensure all contractors and visitors receive environmental training before beginning work, adequate training records are kept, and refresher training is provided as needed to maintain a high awareness of environmental requirements
• Site walks – Prior to construction, EIs will participate in a walkover of areas to be affected by construction activities. The limits of work areas will be delineated by flagging prior to construction. This walkover will identify sensitive resources, limits of clearing, and placement of sediment and erosion control devices. Specific construction procedures will be discussed and updated to become part of the construction sequence, as needed.
• Daily field inspection and compliance inspection reports – The EI will inspect installed erosion and sediment control devices in areas of active construction in accordance with the Project Stormwater Pollution and Prevention Plan (SWPPP). The EIs will provide daily field inspection reports during construction for internal documentation. These reports will be suitable for support of agency-required environmental report submittals.
