Overview
The Area Project Superintendent will support and coordinate with the jobsite superintendent and project management to direct construction activities in the field. They will study specifications to plan procedures for construction based on starting and completion times, staffing requirements, and other variables for each phase of construction. The superintendent will direct field personnel and subcontractors to execute work efficiently and coordinate various construction phases to prevent delays.
They must understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to operate work-related tools and equipment safely. The role requires working in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.
Responsibilities

- Order procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules
- Confer with management to resolve workforce complaints and grievances
- Inspect ongoing work to ensure quality and adherence to schedules
- Prepare or review reports on progress, material usage, and costs, and adjust work schedules accordingly
- Coordinate with subcontractors to operate efficiently and meet company expectations
- Oversee quality control
- Develop employees' skills and capabilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Assist other craft workers as needed
Qualifications
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Good hearing and comprehension for communication
- Perform sedentary to heavy physical work
- Operate office equipment
- Climb and maintain balance on frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds
- Use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry objects regularly
- Prolonged bending, twisting, walking, reaching overhead, squatting, sitting, or standing
- Traverse uneven terrain, ladders, and multi-floor buildings without elevators
- Walk on uneven, muddy, loose rock, or soft surfaces
- Exposure to adverse weather conditions
- Vision requirements include close and distance vision, and focus adjustment
- Ability to drive vehicles as needed
Mental Requirements
- Effective communication with management and field workers
- Reading, writing, and comprehension skills for safety and work instructions
