Project Manager​/Concrete Estimator

(Baton Rouge, LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Project Manager/Concrete Estimator to join our team. This is a key growth‑enabler role focused on protecting margin, controlling risk, and supporting predictable cash flow while the company scales its commercial concrete operations.

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial concrete projects, including foundations, slabs, elevated decks, paving, sidewalks, curbs, rebar, and formwork.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing using validated production rates.
• Define assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications for each estimate.
• Participate in bid strategy sessions and final bid reviews.
• Enforce target gross margins and identify pricing, schedule, logistical, and design risks.
• Recommend GO / GO WITH CONDITIONS / NO‑GO decisions to protect profitability.
• Evaluate billing terms, retainage, and payment timing to manage front‑end cash exposure.
• Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure smooth handoff from estimating to operations.
• Assist with change order pricing and scope recovery.
• Maintain cost databases, production benchmarks, and continuously improve estimating systems and templates.
• Track estimate‑to‑actual performance and provide insight for future project bids.

• Minimum 5+ years of experience estimating commercial concrete projects.
• Strong understanding of concrete means and methods.
• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software, including Bluebeam, Plan Swift, and Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Demonstrated experience working with commercial general contractors.
• Strong financial and risk judgment with a production‑driven estimating mindset.
• Clear communication skills and willingness to challenge assumptions.
• Proven track record of estimate‑to‑actual accountability.

• Ability to spend extended periods reviewing plans and performing takeoffs at a desk or on‑site.
• Occasional travel to project sites may be required.
