Kindergarten Teacher
Join Discovery Health Sciences Academy in Baton Rouge as a Kindergarten Teacher. The academy is a newly authorized Charter opening for the 2023-24 school year, serving PreK-4th grade and expanding to PreK-8th.
OverviewThe role calls for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a state Kindergarten teaching certification. Additional credentials in ELL, Special Education, Reading Specialist, or Elementary Education are desirable.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with early childhood standards.
- Use Guided Reading, Writing Workshop, differentiated instruction, and math centers to support developmental needs.
- Lead extracurricular activities such as clubs or field trips.
- Participate in summer training workshops as required.
- Two or more years of experience teaching young children in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood standards and differentiated instruction.
