As a Before & After Care Worker, you will be responsible for assisting in maintenance of an orderly, safe and pleasant atmosphere in the cafeteria, on the playground and in other designated locations by helping and supervising students during authorized before or after school programs in accordance with CSUSA policy and established school procedures.
How You Will Impact Education
Instruction/Education Responsibilities
- This position is in the public eye; program assistants must reflect a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
- Candidates must resolve conflicts with children and parents, be firm but friendly, courteous and professional when dealing with parents, children and coworkers. Program assistants report to the Director of the Before and After Care Program and to the school principal.
- Follow proper student sign‑in and dismissal procedures for Before Care.
- Follow proper student check‑in and dismissal procedures for After Care.
- Monitor students.
- Observe who enters and leaves the childcare area.
- Pass out snacks.
- Play with students on the playground.
- Tutor and assist students with homework.
- Resolve conflicts with children and parents.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or higher education credential.
- Previous experience as daycare assistant or summer camp counselor preferred.
- Must like children.
- Commitment to company values.
- CSUSA may accept suitable alternatives to the above requirements.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- Usual school working conditions.
- May be noisy during high student traffic.
Physical Demands
- No physical exertion required.
- Somewhat stressful due to frequent student activity.
- Light work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
