Job Title:

Medium Voltage Breaker Technician

Schedule:

Monday - Friday (weekends as needed)

Various across Gulf Coast Region

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

• Low & Medium Voltage Breaker Overhaul:
  Perform initial inspection and functioning of breaker manually and/or electrically, recognize and correct minor issues, understand how breakers and switch gear operate, read schematics, drawings, manuals, retrofit LV breakers with upgrades, perform Class 1, 2, 3 level breaker reconditions.

• Low & Medium Voltage Breaker Testing:
  Identify and record breaker information, understand how to properly isolate/rack out breaker for PM and testing, define and perform testing procedures, record and create database of equipment and test results. NETA Level 3 / NICET Technician Level 3 is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

• 3+ years of prior industrial/substation electrical experience preferred
• CDL or Chauffeur’s license preferred, ability to pull a trailer
• Utilize PPE and safety equipment as required
• Must be able to acquire a TWIC certification
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Work various locations throughout the week
• Participate in safety analyses and environmental processes

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to work with hands constantly, lift objects up to 20 pounds routinely, 50 pounds occasionally, climb ladders, kneel, crawl, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions
• Work in extreme environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, dust, fumes, oils, and wear respiratory protection
• Negotiate hazards of construction sites

Candidates must pass screenings including drug, alcohol, physical, background, and driver’s license checks.
