We are Bently Nevada, a division of Baker Hughes, offering a plant-wide, holistic suite of machine condition monitoring and protection hardware, software and services. Our solutions cover pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and maintenance shutdowns across Oil & Gas, power generation and other process industries.
Responsibilities- Diagnosing machinery problems based on vibration data, operational data, and customer communications.
- Responding to customer‑required travel in a timely manner while bringing all necessary diagnostic equipment.
- Documenting findings and recommendations.
- Engaging in professional communications with customers and team members.
- Determining and directing placement of balance weights.
- Performing asset management / reliability service studies.
- Preparing timely work order requests, quick quotes and invoicing packages.
- Assessing job site safety.
- Understanding terms and conditions commitments.
- Installing transducers and configuring monitoring systems.
- Completing job alignment using reverse dial, laser, optical methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical Engineering a plus).
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience (energy and/or oil & gas) ideally with vibration analysis.
- Availability for extensive travel, up to 70%, and significant overtime.
- Valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain a passport).
- Eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential).
- Eligible to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms on occasion.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of reliability services.
- ISO certification for vibration analysis.
- Demonstrated authority and assurance in dealing with people.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts.
- Experience working under stressful conditions.
- Project management skills.
- Solid computer skills (MS Office).
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills and a hands‑on approach.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and understanding mechanical prints.
- Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and control systems.
- Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems.
- Knowledge or experience with at least one of the following: mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration and/or diagnostics, rotodynamic analysis, Pd.M. data acquisition/evaluation, machinery balancing and alignment.
- Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and services.
