HGA is seeking a Civil Structural Engineer to join our Baton Rouge, LA office. This junior-level position supports the development and execution of civil and structural engineering tasks across various projects. The role includes preparing and reviewing construction drawings, generating calculations, assisting with 3D modeling, and supporting construction and procurement activities.



Key Responsibilities

• Produce calculations for civil/structural projects.
• Create and revise drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or CADWorx.
• Learn and utilize 3D scanning tools or total stations for field data.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to break down project tasks.
• Check technical drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain communication across engineering disciplines.
• Provide support during construction, including potential fieldwork.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in civil/structural design.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2023+; experience with STAAD Pro, RISA, or similar tools preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural codes, design practices, and standards.
• EI certification required; PE license preferred or in progress.
• TWIC or ability to obtain one is required.
• Prior consulting engineering experience is a plus.
• Must be proficient in MS Office and based in the Baton Rouge area.
