OverviewJoin ENERCON as a Part‑Time Principal Civil/Structural Engineer. We are looking for highly skilled Civil/Structural Engineers at the Principal level to play a key role in designing and delivering critical infrastructure projects. As a vital member of our engineering team, your day will be filled with meaningful challenges and impactful work. You might start by diving into detailed analysis and design of critical structures and components. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, you’ll ensure designs meet rigorous safety and regulatory requirements, such as seismic and environmental standards. Later, you could evaluate proposed plant modifications, ensuring that every change upholds safety and compliance.
You will also be responsible for preparing in‑depth technical reports, design calculations, and specifications, all while effectively communicating findings to key stakeholders. Every task you tackle contributes directly to the safety, reliability, and innovation of our client facilities. Your specific responsibilities include:
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate and integrate designs.
- Lead design initiatives: develop innovative design studies, craft comprehensive project scopes, and produce accurate engineering estimates.
- Innovate solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Engage in field operations: travel to site walk‑downs, oversee field installations, and support system start‑ups.
- Inspire teams by motivating them with a positive, results‑driven attitude and effective leadership.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Structural Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent training.
- Minimum of 10 years of power system design experience in the Nuclear or Power Industry.
- Experience in engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial (including chemical or pulp & paper), or government (DOE) projects.
- Proficiency in preparation of structural calculations.
- Knowledge of discipline‑specific computer analysis codes and standard office production software.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
- Familiar with the International Building Code and building code design.
- Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work as an individual contributor and effectively in teams.
- Knowledge of concrete and steel design codes and with working stress and ultimate strength design approaches.
- Mentorship experience or a desire to mentor early to mid‑career engineers (preferred).
- Must be able to obtain safety badge at a nuclear facility.
- Must be able to perform plant walk‑downs.
USD $90,000.00 – USD $ per year.
