Buchart Horn is seeking an accomplished Associate Vice President - Transportation to help lead our Transportation Business Unit. This is a strategic, senior‑level role focused on civil and transportation engineering project delivery, operations, staff development, and business growth. If you’re a licensed Professional Engineer with deep experience in transportation engineering and a passion for leadership, we want to hear from you.

• Provide leadership across transportation engineering projects, ensuring quality, profitability, and compliance with contract requirements.
• Assist in managing day‑to‑day operations of the Business Unit, including staffing, resource planning, and performance reviews.
• Contribute to annual business planning, sales forecasting, and budgeting in alignment with corporate objectives.
• Supervise and mentor project managers, engineers, and support staff to drive high‑performance project delivery.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, and scopes; assist with resource allocation and technical oversight as needed.
• Participate in proposal preparation, fee development, contract negotiation, and client presentations.
• Support and implement Business Unit’s policies and initiatives, including performance management and process improvements.
• Strengthen relationships with existing clients and identify new business opportunities through networking and outreach.
• Collaborate with other corporate leaders on multi‑disciplinary pursuits and project coordination.
• Oversee project reviews, QA/QC standards, and technical excellence in all phases of design and delivery.
• Maintain current knowledge of transportation engineering practices, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Represent Buchart Horn at client meetings, industry events, and professional conferences.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Prior leadership or management experience in an engineering consulting environment.
• Strong understanding of DOT standards, transportation funding, and infrastructure development process.
• Demonstrated ability to manage staff, budgets, and technical performance across multiple active projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead client relationships, strategic initiatives, and business development efforts.
