Sr VDC Coordinator

Overview

Jacobs is seeking a Wireless Telecommunications Project Lead for its Baton Rouge, LA site. You will work on data‑center wireless solutions including Commercial DAS, Public Safety DAS, LMR, Site Radio, RoIP, Wi‑Fi, and tower studies.

Base salary range: $–$ per year.

• Design wireless systems in iBwave and EDX.
• Coordinate with BIM designers to create drawing packages.
• Engage with AHJ’s, radio system owners, and carriers.
• Create or modify DIV 27 specifications.
• Conduct site visits and review technical documents.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience designing wireless telecommunications systems (LMR, Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS).
• Experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or equivalent.
• Client‑facing experience identifying wireless communications needs.
• Knowledge of field troubleshooting, noise floor, SNIR, Return Loss, VSWR.
• Optimizing networks in design and installation.
• NFPA 72/1221/1225, IFC section 510, Carrier KPI’s, IBC, FCC part 20/90, FCC OET bulletin 65, MOTOTRBO systems, Motorola R56 standards, DMR Tier III knowledge.
• Familiarity with Navisworks, RFP response, budgeting, scheduling, risk mitigation.
• iBwave Level 2 Certification required.

• Experience designing Wi‑Fi systems.
• EDX or Motorola design certifications.
• FCC GROL, NICET Design Certification, multiple OEM product certifications.
• Electrical or Communication Engineering degree; EIT or PE.
