Air Quality Technician
Providence - An Engineering and Environmental Consulting Firm is hiring a full‑time Air Quality Technician. The role involves field air monitoring activities, including obtaining permits, conducting facility inspections, and maintaining air monitoring equipment. The position is on‑call and may require driving to various client sites, responding to calls, and working overtime as needed.
Minimum Qualifications- Three years of experience in an industrial setting or a two‑year technical degree (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
- TWIC Card.
- Knowledge of common engineering concepts, practices, standards, and procedures.
- Ability to read, interpret, create, and assemble drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and sketches.
- Strong electro/mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills; experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other technical programs.
- Self‑directed and initiative‑driven.
- Reliable and punctual, completing duties as required.
- Effective communicator at all levels.
- Safety‑conscious, following regulations and wearing PPE.
- Detail‑oriented.
- Drive to and within client facilities.
- Obtain permits at client facilities.
- Complete job safety analyses and toolbox meetings.
- Conduct facility inspections, audits, and sampling.
- Maintain and troubleshoot air monitoring equipment.
- Assist with construction, operation, and maintenance of stationary continuous emissions monitoring systems and mobile ambient air monitoring stations.
- Generate accurate documentation of field activities.
- Adhere to all safety requirements set by Providence and clients.
- Respond to company and client calls, including evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime.
- Frequent travel and short‑notice travel, including overnight stays.
- Walk long distances.
Lift 50 lbs. or more and work at elevated heights. - Work outdoors in variable weather and terrain for extended periods.
