The Role
The Cage Cashier accurately and promptly handles all money transactions for guests and team members while providing outstanding guest service.
- Attend and participate in company and departmental meetings.
- Build guest relations—talk with guests, make them feel welcome, and invite them back.
- Redeem and sell chips.
- Process Tito tickets by validating and redeeming value.
- Validate and settle slot‑machine jackpots and cancel credit payouts.
- Issue table chip fills and table credits.
- Efficiently make exchanges of funds for team members.
- Promptly cash guests out, give correct change, and answer guest questions courteously.
- Use all related equipment and cash‑handling systems appropriately.
- Keep cash drawer balanced and in compliance.
- Count and verify team‑member tips/compensations.
- Sort and stack chips properly.
- Review operational data, complete, and verify paperwork.
- Verify and document personal identification information for appropriate transactions.
- Maintain monetary and paperwork accuracy within department/property standards and internal controls.
- Troubleshoot problems and develop workable solutions.
- Track and complete all government reporting.
- Follow guest alcohol limitation policies and company procedures.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies ethically and ensure others do the same.
- Handle routine guest complaints and incidents, isolating situations that require supervisory attention, and resolve them to preserve positive guest relationships.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred).
- Gaming industry experience (preferred).
- 2 years of high‑volume cash‑handling experience (preferred).
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, guest service, written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional demeanor and presence to interact with guests and team members.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Louisiana Gaming License.
