Connectly Recruiting has been engaged by our growing and esteemed client to identify a talented individual to join their team as Chief Financial Officer, a strategic role that will be an integral part of the organization’s next phase of growth.

The Chief Financial Officer is a strategic executive responsible for overseeing the financial health, growth, and long-term sustainability of the organization. The CFO provides financial leadership across multi-state operations and supports large-scale project execution as well as high volume sales related to the organization’s services. This role will ensure regulatory compliance, complete or direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, create forecasts predicting future growth, and partner with leadership to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Financial Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with corporate goals and nationwide operations.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Team on financial planning, risk management, and growth initiatives.
  • Lead long-term capital planning, forecasting, and financial modeling for expansion, acquisitions, and major projects.
Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, bonding capacity, and credit facilities.
Construction & Project Finance
  • Oversee project cost controls, job costing, margin analysis, and profitability reporting.
  • Review bids, contracts, and project financial structures to ensure acceptable risk and return.
  • Monitor project performance across regions, identifying trends, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Support operational leaders with financial insights for scheduling, labor, equipment, and materials management.
  • Manage insurance programs, bonding relationships, and financial risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax, labor, and construction-related requirements.
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and interactions with external auditors and advisors.
Treasury & Capital Management
  • Oversee banking relationships, financing arrangements, and debt management.
  • Evaluate capital investments in equipment, technology, and facilities.
  • Lead financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  • Lead and develop accounting teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and data-driven decision‑making.
  • Make decisions and exhibit the company’s core vales
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior executive roles.
  • Deep understanding of construction accounting, job costing, and percentage‑of‑completion reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead complex financial operations and diverse teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence.
  • High level of integrity, judgment, and attention to detail.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience working with sureties and managing bonding capacity.
  • Track record of supporting company growth, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Experience in construction or project‑based industries is preferred.

Competitive salary + benefits package offered for this role, depending on experience. Position located within the Baton Rouge Metro area. 100% onsite. Relocation assistance will be considered for candidates not local.
