We are seeking dedicated and empathetic individuals to join our team as a Probation and Parole Officer – Juvenile. This role plays a critical part in promoting public safety, reducing recidivism, and supporting the successful rehabilitation of justice‑involved youth through professional supervision, guidance, and intervention strategies.
Responsibilities- Collaborate closely with judges, law enforcement agencies, and community-based organizations to provide services and supervision for juveniles.
- Monitor youth compliance with court‑ordered conditions under direct supervision.
- Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing supervision plans.
- Perform home and field visits to observe behavior and environment.
- Collaborate with families, schools, and service providers to support youth development.
- Maintain detailed case documentation and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Administrate evidence‑based practices in line with juvenile justice standards.
- Recommend interventions, treatment referrals, and community resources.
- Participate in court proceedings and provide expert testimony when needed.
- Mentor entry‑level officers and contribute to team performance initiatives.
- Lead complex cases involving high‑risk youth.
- Develop and implement specialized supervision strategies and treatment plans.
- Serve as a liaison between juvenile justice partners and community organizations.
- Provide training and technical guidance to junior officers.
- Analyze outcomes and contribute to policy and program improvements.

- Following Policies and Procedures: Ability to comply with the policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws.
- Three years of experience in corrections or law enforcement, OR three years of continuous active military duty, OR six years of full‑time experience in any field, OR a bachelor’s degree. Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience toward the six years of full‑time work experience, up to a maximum of four years.
- Must possess a current Louisiana driver’s license.
- Will be required to handle and carry firearms and complete the Corrections Juvenile Services‑Agent Curriculum.
- Applicants who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who are under indictment on a felony charge, will be disqualified until relief is granted.

- Appointment Type: Full‑time, probational.
- Career Progression: Position may be filled as Probation and Parole Officer 1, 2, or 3 (Juvenile) depending on experience.
- Compensation: Special Entrance Rate (SER) – Officer 1 $ 1,590.40 biweekly;
Officer 2 $ 1,701.60 biweekly;
Officer 3 $ 2,084.80 biweekly. - Drug Screening, Driver’s License, and Background Check: Required prior to appointment.
