The Mission of the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement (LCLE) is to improve the operations of the criminal justice and juvenile justice system and promote public safety by providing progressive leadership and coordination within the criminal justice community.
We’re looking for an incumbent who is very detail-oriented and highly organized with great communication skills. The Criminal Victims Reparation section receives applications for reimbursement from victims of crime.

Requirements:
- Three years of experience in criminal justice, policy planning or analysis, law enforcement, legal research, contracts or grants management, statistical analysis, or program auditing; OR
- Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
- A bachelor's degree.
Experience Substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:Gathers, develops and learns to analyze and interpret data and statistics relative to criminal justice policy issues and the operation of the criminal justice system. Learns to identify issues for analysis, to develop a work plan for the analysis effort, and to assist in the coordination of larger criminal justice policy analysis projects.
Researches and learns to research applicable laws, background materials, and regulations pertaining to criminal justice policy areas. Assists in and learns to review proposed state and federal legislation pertaining to the operation of the criminal justice system and learns to evaluate its potential impact on criminal justice policy and programs.
Learns to carry out tasks in the monitoring and evaluating of certified law enforcement academies across the state in accordance with statutory requirements. Assists in and learns to administer POST examinations for certifying peace officers across the state.
Assists in the review and evaluation of programmatic grant applications from statewide criminal justice, law enforcement, juvenile and non-profit agencies embracing all areas of the criminal justice system.
Assists in and learns to review federal/state program and financial rules, regulations and guidelines for implementation of criminal justice programs. Assists in the review and evaluation of funded, ongoing programs and projects.
Collects, assembles and records descriptive and analytical data and information for federal and state final and annual reports. Assists in evaluating data and statistics for performance of agencies utilizing federal and state funds.
Learns computer software used in the development of criminal justice policy simulation models, grants management information, crime reporting, forecasting, agency programmatic databases, and program evaluation.
