Radiation Therapist

• Administer daily radiotherapy treatments to patients assigned to the treatment unit, accurately and efficiently, at a speed consistent with patient scheduling.
• Maintain records of daily treatments as required in the assigned treatment area and follow treatment policies and procedures while proactively reviewing patient charts.
• Assist with outside customers and vendors as needed.
• Participate in the clinical orientation and instruction of newly hired radiation therapists, radiation therapy students, and x‑ray students.
• Perform mandatory quality control activities and participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement program of the treatment area department.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while observing and adhering to radiation safety and infection control policies.
• Rotational call participation as required.

• Graduate of an accredited program in radiation therapy technology or suitable equivalent.
• 2 years clinical experience as a radiation therapist preferred but not required.
• ARRT eligible or current registry as RT(T) and licensed by the Louisiana Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners.
• CPR required.
• Computer skills and exposure to various Elekta & Varian treatment machines preferred.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
