About the Role
- Provide healthcare services using radionuclides for diagnosis and treatment.
- Perform cardiac PET/CT procedures, nuclear imaging, and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
- Apply professional judgment and uphold medical ethics during all procedures.
- Deliver appropriate patient care, recognizing conditions essential for successful procedure outcomes.
- Operate and maintain imaging and radiation detection equipment.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals/medications as prescribed, following state statutes and institutional policy.
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed for patients, self, and others.
- Assist other clinics and departments within the Baton Rouge and Zachary region.

- Collaborate with practitioners by corroborating patient histories with procedures to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Prepare patients through clear instructions, cooperation-building, and anxiety minimization.
- Optimize patient positioning and comfort to ensure high-quality imaging results.
- Evaluate image quality and confirm accurate patient identification for each study.
- Provide both physical and emotional support to patients during procedures.
- Maintain required certifications, including Haz Mat and BLS, to support operational and safety standards.
- Perform venipures and respond to emergency situations with basic life support when necessary.
- Uphold CIS’s patient philosophy through compassionate, ethical, and skillful care delivery.
What Makes You a Great Match
- Licensed by the State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners in nuclear medicine and/or radiology in the state where work is performed.
- Registered with NMTCB and/or ARRT.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Committed to ongoing professional development through continuing education.
- Skilled in communication with patients, peers, and practitioners.
- Experienced in Nuclear Medicine imaging, radiation protection principles, and radiopharmaceutical preparation/administration. Cardiac PET/CT experience is a plus.
- Flexible and willing to assist in other clinics or roles as needed.
- Able to work with professionalism, empathy, and attention to patient safety and comfort.
- PET/CT preferred.
High School or better.
