EKG Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate EKG Technician to perform diagnostic tests including electrocardiograms (EKGs), drug screenings, and vision screenings. This role is vital in supporting patient care, occupational health compliance, and early detection of medical conditions.

Electrocardiogram (EKG) Testing:

• Prepare patients for EKG procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions.
• Attach electrodes to the patient’s body and operate EKG machines.
• Record and review test results for clarity and completeness.
• Report abnormal results to appropriate medical staff promptly.
• Maintain and sanitize EKG equipment.

Drug Screening:

• Collect urine and/or oral fluid specimens following chain‑of‑custody protocols.
• Label and document specimens accurately.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., DOT, HIPAA).
• Coordinate with laboratories and report results to appropriate personnel.

Vision Screening:

• Administer vision tests (e.g., Snellen chart, color vision tests) for pre‑employment, routine checkups, or other screening purposes.
• Document and communicate results clearly and accurately.
• Calibrate and maintain vision screening equipment.

Lab

Full-Time

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited EKG technician training program preferred.
• Experience in occupational health or medical office setting a plus.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Certified EKG Technician (CET) from NHA or equivalent.
• DOT certification for drug screening collection (or willingness to obtain).
• CPR certification.

Hourly

Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm schedule may vary as needed
