Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will deliver automated solutions for software processes, plan and coordinate testing activities, and support clients, developers, and testers. You will provide knowledge transfer, conduct various types of testing, and ensure continuous improvement in QA processes.
Responsibilities- Identify opportunities to embed quality within software processes.
- Design and execute QA tests.
- Run tests for databases, systems, networks, applications, hardware, and software.
- Identify bugs and quality issues in development, service, or business processes.
- Collaborate with other business units to understand requirements and ensure their quality needs are met.
- Interact with development teams, project managers, internal and external customers, senior management, and vendors.
- Create and execute functional tests to support key business processes.
- Comply with all laws and regulations related to duties and responsibilities.
- This role does not manage people.
- Reports to Manager, IT Quality Assurance.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, or four years of related work experience.
- Report and document defects found during testing and work across functional teams to resolve defects.
- 5 years of quality assurance experience, including professional systems or programming background.
- Database technologies and SQL required.
- Automated testing experience, such as functional and performance testing.
- Experience testing web, client-server, infrastructure, business process, or mainframe applications, and related automated testing tools and QA methodologies.
- Experience with Microsoft TFS / Azure Dev Ops.
- Preferred:
Healthcare industry experience, EDI formats (Claims, Enrollment, Eligibility), Web services testing, Batch jobs testing, Facets, EDIFECS, Biztalk.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Certifications in software quality or equivalent.
- Ability to analyze and solve logical problems.
- Experience reporting and documenting defects and coordinating resolution.
- Work on medium‑complex, cross‑functional solutions as a team member.
- Develop and implement test data, validate testing, capture test cases, and coordinate automated testing.
- Perform production support: troubleshoot defects, track performance, and support post‑implementation testing.
- Ensure code and tests meet required quality standards and report status to stakeholders.
- Train users and testing groups on test scenarios and tools.
- Adhere to process, policies, and standards; maintain Enterprise QA standards.
- Provide customer service and keep stakeholders informed of quality issues.
- Analyze new software releases and participate in vendor evaluations.
- None required.
- Coordinate information gathering and reporting, review trends, and define problem‑solving responses.
- Collaborate with key players to align technical plans with business objectives.
- Conduct investigations, provide guidance, and propose solutions for business operations.
- Actively support customer service initiatives, monitor progress, and educate clients.
- Seek information from various sources, identify biases, and uncover root causes of problems.
- Implement innovative ideas and encourage stakeholder involvement in decision‑making.
- Apply problem‑solving methodologies to operational issues, recommend resources, and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Perform job‑related duties in a normal office environment.
- Work predominantly while standing or sitting.
- Requires the ability to comprehend, document, calculate, visualize, and analyze information.
