The Content Manager is a creative, detail‑oriented communicator who develops and executes compelling content across various platforms to support LED’s brand, mission, and strategic goals. This role leads day‑to‑day social media management and contributes written content for newsletters, website pages, and other communications initiatives.
Responsibilities- Develop, publish, and manage daily content across LED’s social media channels (Linked In, X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, You Tube, etc.).
- Maintain a proactive content calendar aligned with organizational priorities, announcements, and campaigns.
- Monitor engagement, trends, and analytics to refine messaging and optimize performance.
- Create and edit social media graphics, short‑form video, and multimedia assets as needed.
- Coordinate with internal teams to identify storytelling opportunities and highlight successes, programs, and initiatives.
- Draft, edit, and proofread clear and compelling copy for monthly newsletters, marketing materials, and web pages.
- Ensure all content reflects LED’s voice, brand standards, and strategic messaging.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and translate information into accessible, audience‑friendly content.
- Assist with special projects, campaigns, and events that require digital promotion or content coordination.
- Support the development of press materials, talking points, and other communications as needed.
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and cross‑agency collaborations.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with social media platforms, content scheduling tools, and analytics dashboards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience using basic design or multimedia tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
- Experience in economic development, government communications, or business‑focused organizations.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and content management systems (e.g., Word Press, Drupal).
- Ability to create short‑form video and on‑the‑fly visuals for social platforms.
- Strategic and creative thinker.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Adaptability and initiative.
- Commitment to accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency.
This is an in‑person position based in Baton Rouge; occasional travel or after‑hours work may be required for events or media opportunities.
