Provide inpatient physical rehabilitation services to all patients at a level consistent with BRRH mission, vision and values. Administer nursing care to designated patients under the direction/supervision of a Registered Nurse. Perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties in accordance with the needs of the age population served as defined in the department's scope of care.

• Perform patient care according to standards of care and the needs of the patient.
• Collect data from patient and family for RN evaluation and development of a teaching plan.
• Teach family and patients.
• Safely and properly administer medications as ordered by physician.
• Perform treatments as prescribed by physician.
• Use the nursing care plan in daily assignments, review and, under supervision, modify the plan of care.
• Direct and assist ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties.
• Monitor IVs and blood for proper functioning and report any untoward side effect to the RN immediately.
• Start IVs as ordered by physician.
• Recognize patient care priorities, multidisciplinary treatment plans, and potential patient care crises.
• Collect data essential to RN assessment and report deviations from normal to the RN.
• Assist with reassessing patient according to unit standards and/or hospital policy, as patient needs dictate and report pertinent changes in patient status to the RN.
• Maintain patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical treatment.
• Document appropriately in all assigned patient records.
• Accurately document medication administration, treatments, collected data, interventions, and unusual occurrences.
• Complete documentation before end of shift.
• Demonstrate ability to observe and record the signs, symptoms, and behaviors including the physiological status of patients.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Current LA license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• CPR Certified
