Join the Seaside Health System team as a Registered Nurse on our Geriatric Psychiatry unit, where you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled RN to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals on a full-time basis.
About the Role:As a Registered Nurse on our Geriatric Psychiatry unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to our older adult patients with mental health needs. You will work in a dynamic and supportive environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care to older adult patients with mental health needs, including assessment, medication management, and treatment planning
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate and detailed records
- Participate in shift reports and sharing of patient information with colleagues
- Utilize effective communication skills to relay patient information to family members and healthcare providers
- Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in geriatric psychiatry
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction

- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Louisiana
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in med surg and/or geriatric psychiatry or a related field
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required
