Job DescriptionPennington Biomedical Research Center, a world‑renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor in Biostatistics in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The chosen candidate will work in close collaboration with Principal Investigators to provide biostatistical support for federal grant applications and funded research studies. This support includes: the development of research questions, assessing feasibility of outcomes, designing clinical experiments and interventional studies to generate and analyze data, and working with teams to appropriately interpret results.
All candidates must show evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills and outstanding interdisciplinary research potential. Preferred candidates, depending on rank, will also have a record of genuine interest in interdisciplinary collaborations in translational research, innovative methodological research, and successful extramural funding support. This position is 100% research based with no teaching effort.
Required Qualifications- Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or closely related field.
- Experience and demonstrated interest in collaboration in biomedical and public health research including animal studies, clinical trials, and population studies.
- Knowledge of novel statistical methods and study design methods.
- Areas of interest: cluster or group randomized trials, adaptive trials, machine learning, high dimensional data analysis, convolutional neural networks, causal inference.
