Salary: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour

• Assemble, install and repair sheet metal products and equipment such as ducts, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings.
• Set up and operate fabricating machines to cut, bend and straighten sheet metal.
• Shape metal over anvils, blocks or forms using hammer.
• Operate soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts.
• Inspect, assemble and smooth seams and joints of burred surfaces.
• Install prefabricated sheet metal ducts used for heating, air conditioning or other purposes.
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of duct systems.

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years as a sheet metal journeyman with experience in commercial service; or an equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience.

• Work in diverse conditions, including mechanical equipment rooms, noisy operating equipment, extreme weather, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).
• Perform regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, kneeling and standing for long periods.
• Regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move more than 50 pounds.
