At the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the causes of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia, Pennington Biomedical Research Center is a campus of Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research. Minimum Qualifications

One year of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience:
Three years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR
Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance.

Job Duties

• Serves as lead worker over assigned maintenance personnel; directs work assignments, coordinates workflow, and inspects completed work.
• Surveys maintenance jobs and ensures appropriate tools, materials, equipment, and resources are available.
• Provides guidance, training, and technical assistance to subordinate maintenance personnel.
• Performs advanced installation, replacement, modification, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
