HR Manager - Battle Creek Area

Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

• Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for manufacturing personnel.
• Oversee employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.
• Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
• Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll processes for both hourly and salaried employees.
• Coordinate and facilitate essential training and development programs, with a strong emphasis on workplace safety.
• Partner with operations management to address workforce planning, productivity, and employee engagement initiatives.

• Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of labor relations, including experience with union environments or proactive employee relations strategies.
• In-depth understanding of employment law, safety regulations (OSHA), and workers' compensation in a production setting.
• Demonstrated ability in talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies for a diverse manufacturing workforce.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and data analytics to support HR operations and strategic decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport across all levels of the organization, from shop floor to management.

• Experience with labor relations or managing a unionized workforce.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, 5S) and their HR implications.
• Proficiency in HRIS and timekeeping systems specifically designed for shift-based or production environments.
• Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) to effectively communicate with a diverse manufacturing workforce.
