Airframe Structures Technician

The Airframe Structures Technician performs repairs to sheet metal and composite components on a variety of airframes in a safe and clean work environment according to manufacturer's specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications. In addition, this position prepares and completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.

• With moderate supervision, performs repairs in compliance with Service Bulletins (SBs) and Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and standard fabrication practices of sheet metal and composite components, following manufacturer specifications, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, and customer specifications, timely, clean, safe, professional, and with minimal rework; accurately orders aircraft parts as needed.
• Fits and installs fabricated and manufactured parts; proposes and seeks approval for alternate processes to achieve quality and efficiency; assists with troubleshooting structural tasks.
• Prepares various documents for record‑keeping (turnovers, removal sheets, personal training log, etc.); demonstrates proficiency with the Duncan work order system by completing discrepancies, corrective actions, SB/AD statements, final inspections, and closing of squawks and work orders.
• Locates and uses appropriate technical data and follows verbal instructions for assigned maintenance tasks.
• Performs other related duties assigned by management.

• Licenses/Certificates:
  Airframe or Repairman’s Certificate required;
  Powerplant Certificate preferred; valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record;
  Respirator Fit qualified;
  Man Lift qualified; tool inventory per department tool list required.
• Attendance:
  Regularly scheduled attendance required.
• Physical:
  Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials, and fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting.
• Environmental:
  Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Previous sheet metal experience or training preferred.

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Two years sheet metal or aircraft maintenance experience required.
• FAA Airframe Maintenance Certificate preferred.

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Five years sheet metal or aircraft maintenance experience required.
