Licensed Practical Nurse; LPN

Join Villa Healthcare as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). We are seeking compassionate, dedicated nurses to provide quality care to residents in our facility located at 3057 Gull Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.

• Provide licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Conduct resident assessments and observations, review care plans and ensure appropriate care.
• Take and record blood pressure and vital signs, administer catheter care, IV therapy within license limits, and provide respiratory care such as oxygen and nebulizer treatments.
• Maintain detailed nursing notes that reflect the care provided and the resident’s response.
• Ensure a safe environment free from accidents and hazards, addressing safety risks promptly.
• Monitor and direct non‑licensed ancillary services to maintain high standards of resident care.
• Communicate and report information to residents, families, physicians, guardians, governmental agencies and facility personnel as required by policy and state/federal guidelines.
• Implement and maintain all aspects of resident care plans, making recommendations for changes to the interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards, correcting any non‑compliance immediately.
• Adhere to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) policies and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• CPR trained with current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under stress.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of infection control standards, policies and procedures.
• Flexibility to adapt to a work schedule that includes occasional overnight travel.
• Positive, effective, and appropriate communication with residents, families, volunteers, and facility staff.

• Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university.
• Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Long‑term care experience preferred.

• Ability to walk, reach, bend, lift, sit for extended periods, grasp, coordinate fine hand movements, push, pull, and detect smells and temperatures, with or without mechanical aids.
• Limited potential for environmental hazards; adherence to safety standards required.
