Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in Michigan requiring a current or pending state RN license and flexible floating to similar units.

Responsibilities

• Work on a 37-bed Med/Surg/Oncology unit in a hospital environment

• Patient types include general medical, post-surgical (GI, urological, gynecological), ortho/neurovascular, and cardio/pulmonary cases

• Staffing ratio is typically 1:5-6 for night shifts, may flex to 1:8 with LPN support

• Required to float to other Med/Surg units as needed, generally once per week

• Shifts are 12 hours, day shift (7:00 to 19:30), with both 36 and 48 hour schedules available

• Every other weekend work required

• Must be available for the first 8 days of the assignment

• Care for diverse patient conditions including GI, urology, hysterectomies, mastectomies, and general medical cases

• RN will be paired with LPN support if patient assignments exceed standard ratios

• Open to RNs willing to float between Med/Surg units based on patient and staffing needs

• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed or approved

• Local pay rate applies for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license or proof of license application with estimated approval date

• Current American Heart Association BLS certification or willingness to obtain prior to start

• Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg RN experience required, 2 years preferred

• Experience working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including LPNs and techs
