Bronson Healthcare is inviting experienced Registered Nurses to join our newly opened 14‑bed short‑stay observation unit. The RN will work independently, maintaining a high level of self‑accountability while delivering excellent patient care and customer service.
ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision and consistent with organizational policies and Michigan Public Health Code, the registered nurse manages patient care throughout the stay to achieve quality outcomes and timely discharge.
Responsibilities include:
utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, diagnosis, implementation, evaluation); coordinating care with other professionals; delegating appropriate tasks to patient care assistants or universal service assistants; providing physical care within professional scope; documenting and communicating patient responses during each tour of duty; and ensuring competent care for the unit’s patient population. The role also requires frequent communication—verbal, written, and electronic—with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Associate’s degree in Nursing required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; must obtain within 8 years of hire.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing in the state of Michigan.
- BLS certification required by completion of core orientation.
- Critical Care or ALS certification may be required for unit‑specific duties.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and analyzing data from various computer systems and equipment.
- Excellent verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems and equipment in order to set an appropriate plan of action.
- Must be able to constantly communicate both verbally, in writing and electronically.

The position involves mental/visual fatigue from interactive and repetitive tasks, regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, and occasional handling of heavier objects. Work requires sustained alertness and concentration for long periods while operating personal computers.
