Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with a current Michigan license and at least one year of recent Med/Surg experience, for a night shift position with floating requirements.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit
- Patient population includes general medical, ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, and post-surgical cases such as GI, urology, hysterectomy, and mastectomy
- Night shift position with 12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
- Possible assignment to various Med/Surg specialty units depending on needs
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 on nights, may flex to 7-8 patients with LPN support
- Required to float to other Med Surg units, typically once per week
- Every other weekend shifts required
- All Med/Surg nurses must be willing to float to other Medical Surgical units as needed
- RN will be paired with LPN for support if patient assignments increase
- Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
- First two weeks of orientation attendance is mandatory
- Active Michigan RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA); pending accepted if candidate is willing to obtain
- Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience required; 2 years preferred
- Must be available for the first two weeks of assignment for orientation
- Experience working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and techs
