American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with active MI license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience for a hospital assignment with every other weekend requirement.
Details- Medical Surgical unit caring for a mix of medical and surgical patients including ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, GI, urology, gynecological, and mastectomy cases
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
- 36 or 48 hour weeks available
- Staffing ratio of 1:5-6 for nights, which may flex to 1:7-8 with LPN support
- Floats to other Med Surg units roughly once per week
- Required to work every other weekend
- Must be willing to work alongside a variety of staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
- Active Michigan RN license required
- BLS (AHA) certification required; candidates willing to obtain certification may be considered
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required; 2 years preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Proof of flu vaccination required with submission, or exemption request within 48 hours of signing
- Supervisor-level references required
- Must be available for the first 2 weeks of assignment for orientation
- Travelers are first to float
- 8 hours of non-billable training modules completed during orientation and annually, self-reported
- RTO limited to no more than 10 days
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
- Local rate applies for travelers within 50 miles of the facility
- Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed or approved at this time
- Opportunity to provide care alongside nursing students
- Block scheduling preferences cannot be accommodated, so flexibility is expected
