American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 37-bed Medical, Surgical, and Oncology unit requiring MI RN licensure and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

• Medical, Surgical, and Oncology unit (C5) with 37 beds caring for a wide variety of patient types
• Specializes in general medical diagnoses along with gastrointestinal, urological, and gynecological surgeries
• Patient population also includes ortho/neurovascular and cardio/pulmonary cases
• Staffing ratio of 1:5-6 for nights, which may flex to 8 patients with LPN support
• Works alongside a team of RNs, LPNs, and Techs
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other Med/Surg units required, typically about once per week
• Epic charting system used

• Active Michigan RN license required (pending license accepted with ETA)
• BLS (AHA) certification required, NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required, 2 years preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Proficiency in IV therapy and phlebotomy required
• Supervisor-level references required
• Proof of flu vaccination required at submission, with exemption requests submitted within 48 hours of signing

• Provide direct patient care alongside nursing students
• Must be willing to work with a variety of staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
• Holiday coverage required; RTO during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing needs
• Must be available for the first two weeks of orientation
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• Previous Bronson travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days
