American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring a Michigan RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

• Medical, Surgical, and Oncology unit with 37 beds caring for a wide variety of general medical and surgical patients
• Specializes in gastrointestinal, urological, and gynecological surgeries, with additional exposure to ortho/neurovascular and cardio/pulmonary patients
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 or 48 hour weeks available
• Staffing ratio typically 1:5-6, flexing up to 1:8 with LPN support in those instances
• Works alongside a variety of staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to other Med/Surg units required, typically about once per week
• Epic charting system preferred

• Active Michigan RN license required (pending license accepted with ETA)
• BLS certification required (AHA, pending accepted with confirmation of willingness to obtain)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required, 2 years preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Proof of Flu vaccination required for consideration, with exemption requests submitted within 48 hours of signing

• Must be available for the first two weeks of orientation
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments
• Holiday coverage required, though RTO during holidays must remain flexible to accommodate staffing needs
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions, though some specialties may have local rate adjustments
• Previous Bronson internal travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
• Supervisor-level references required for consideration
• Opportunity to provide care alongside nursing students
