Job Summary
The Assistant General Manager has accountability for the successful operation, growth and prosperity of an assigned Fazoli’s Restaurant through the execution of People, Sales and Profit.
Key ResponsibilitiesPeople: Assists the General Manager in developing the restaurant team succession and bench strength using the Company’s internal development processes, performance management and other internal systems to ensure operational standards, team performance and corresponding financial goals are met.
Sales: Builds professional relationships and partnerships within the community, participates in community affairs, and executes approved marketing plans to drive both in‑house and off‑premises sales.
Profit: Supports the General Manager with all aspects of business operations, maximizing restaurant profitability by maintaining and enforcing effective management practices, policies, controls, tools and systems.
Attributes of Success- Excellent communication and recruitment skills, able to listen, process information quickly and convey knowledge effectively.
- Basic knowledge of business and financial principles, including profit‑and‑loss statements, budgeting and revenue generation.
- Capacity to assist the GM in planning and executing multiple strategies simultaneously.
- Self‑driven and able to work independently or collaboratively to mitigate risks and seize opportunities.
- Basic computer skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, competitive nature and contagious enthusiasm to drive team performance.
- Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum Age: 18 years and a valid driver’s license.
- Experience (External): Minimum of 1‑year previous Assistant General Manager experience (fast casual/quick service preferred).
- Experience (Internal): 1 year as a successful Fazoli’s Assistant Manager with recommendations from current General Manager and Area Supervisor.
- Completion of all required Fazoli’s training and certifications, including SERV Safe.
- Full availability to work all hours of restaurant operations, typically 11‑p.m. to 8‑p.m. and other meal periods when the GM is off.
- Ability to maintain a safe and secure work environment by enforcing all Safety & Security policies.
- Flexibility to transfer and/or assist at other Fazoli’s restaurants as business needs arise.
- Clearance of routine and periodic background, motor vehicle report and reference checks.
The role is performed in a restaurant environment with moderate noise. Responsibilities include standing, walking, sitting, bending, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. The Company retains the right to request a transfer to another restaurant; mileage reimbursement applies if outside a 25‑mile radius.
