Substitute Custodian – Classified Substitute

Pay: $18.00 per hour.

Position Summary

Maintain an attractive, sanitary, and safe facility for students, staff and public by cleaning assigned school facilities and arranging furniture for meetings, classroom activities and events.

Essential Functions
  • Clean assigned school facilities including classrooms, offices, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, grounds, etc., to maintain a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
  • Operate equipment used in industrial maintenance such as electrical cleaning equipment, common tools, etc., while adhering to safety practices.
  • Collaborate with others in various circumstances, adapt to changing work priorities, and meet deadlines and schedules.
Job Requirements
  • Skills: Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment, basic math (fractions, percentages, ratios), understand written procedures, write routine documents, and follow multi‑step instructions.
  • Knowledge: Methods of industrial cleaning, preservation of surfaces, cleaning materials, safety practices and procedures.
  • Abilities: Schedule activities, collate data, adapt to changing priorities, communicate with diverse groups, work as part of a team, work under interruptions.
  • Experience: Job‑related experience is desired.
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Valid Washington State driver’s license.
  • Clearances: Criminal Justice/Fingerprint clearance, Blood Borne Pathogen training.
Working Environment

Requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; climbing and balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; fine finger dexterity. 0% sitting, 75% walking, 25% standing. May involve hazardous conditions in a clean atmosphere.
