Credit Risk Analyst & Documentation Officer (SME) — Back Office
Location:
Remote (preference GMT+2 to GMT+5)
Reporting Line:
Head of Credit / Risk (or CEO until risk leadership is formalized)
Department:
Risk & Credit (Back Office)
Role Type:
Individual Contributor
Role Summary
Mamun is hiring a Credit Risk Analyst & Documentation Officer to support disciplined underwriting and ensure that approved facilities are converted into accurate offers and execution‑ready agreement packs. This is a back‑office role focused on credit analysis, risk governance, documentation quality, and portfolio monitoring.
The role does not own sales targets or pipeline closing. It does own: (i) preparing the credit memo and recommendation, (ii) preparing and issuing the offer letter/term sheet strictly based on approved terms, and (iii) drafting the financing agreements using Mamun templates and coordinating internal legal/compliance review through to execution readiness.
Key Responsibilities- 1) Credit Underwriting & Risk Assessment (Core)
Analyze borrower financials, cash flows, bank statements, and operating performance to assess creditworthiness.
Apply Mamun’s risk scorecards and credit policy consistently; document assumptions, gaps, and limitations.
Identify key risks (liquidity stress, leverage, cash behavior, concentrations, related‑party exposure, fraud red flags) and propose mitigants.
Produce structured credit outputs: credit memo, risk summary, approval/rejection recommendation, and conditions.
- 2) Offer Preparation & Issuance (Controlled, Template‑Based)
Prepare offer letters / term sheets based strictly on terms approved by the authorized approver(s) (Credit Committee / Head of Risk / CEO).
Ensure offers clearly reflect: facility type, limit, tenor, pricing/profit, repayment schedule, fees, security/guarantees, covenants, conditions precedent, and disbursement requirements.
Issue offers to borrowers through approved channels and track acceptance/rejection and required follow‑ups as an administrative/documentation function (not as a sales KPI).
Maintain an “offer log” including version control, approvals, and borrower responses for auditability.
- 3) Drafting Financing Agreements (Back Office Documentation Ownership)
Draft financing agreements and supporting documents using Mamun’s approved templates (e.g., facility agreement, Murabaha/Wakala documentation where applicable, guarantees, assignments, promissory notes, security documents, notices).
Populate agreements accurately based on approved terms and verified KYC/corporate details.
Manage document versioning, ensure naming conventions, and maintain a complete execution pack.
Coordinate internal reviews (Legal, Compliance, Operations) and incorporate feedback; prepare documents for signature and closing.
- 4) Execution Readiness, Conditions Tracking & File Quality
Maintain a complete and auditable credit file per borrower: KYC status, corporate documents, financials, approvals, offers, executed agreements, CP checklist, and disbursement instructions.
Track conditions precedent and ensure closure before disbursement; elevate missing items to relevant owners (Origination / Ops / Compliance).
Ensure all approvals include clear conditions, monitoring triggers, and post‑disbursement requirements.
- 5) Portfolio Monitoring & Early Warning
Monitor repayment behavior, covenant compliance, and early warning signals.
Produce periodic portfolio risk reports (arrears trends, watchlist movement, concentration metrics, vintage analysis).
Recommend watchlist actions or escalation triggers based on defined thresholds and policy.
- 6) Governance & Controls
Protect the “four‑eyes principle” by remaining independent of sales incentives and pipeline targets.
Document exceptions/overrides explicitly and route them to the proper approval authority.
Support audit/regulatory requests by providing evidence trails, approvals, and version‑controlled documentation.
- Bachelor’s in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years in credit analysis / underwriting / documentation in SME lending, banking, factoring, trade finance, or fintech.
- Strong financial statement and cash‑flow analysis; strong Excel/Sheets (models, sensitivities, stress tests).
- Strong drafting precision and document discipline (templates, version control, attention to detail).
- Strong written communication for credit memos and offer documentation.
- English fluency required;
Arabic is a strong plus.
