Product Design & Development Engineer – KMT Waterjet
Seeking a highly skilled and innovative design engineer to join our McCartney Engineering team. The role focuses on developing, testing, and improving new and existing products and systems, ensuring high‑quality designs that meet customer needs and industry standards.
Responsibilities- Conduct peer reviews of engineering changes and related documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze and evaluate customer specifications to inform design decisions.
- Develop systems that fulfill customer requirements, balancing functionality, cost, and feasibility.
- Perform design calculations and analyses to validate engineering concepts.
- Set up and conduct factory acceptance testing to verify product performance and quality.
- Research and select components for future applications, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
- Evaluate test data from new components to determine suitability for integration into existing systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

- Capable of conveying technical and non‑technical information clearly and accurately.

- Promote and support open and candid sharing of information and ideas.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
- Proven expertise in 3D modeling software (preferably Solid Works). AutoCAD (or similar software such as Draft Sight) competency.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience in creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Experience with prototyping and testing methods.
