* as an experienced Bookkeeper, you’ll deliver exceptional bookkeeping, payroll, and customer service. You’ll be an integral part of delivering on our brand purpose to provide help and inspire communities everywhere.

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers
• Reconcile and balance accounts
• Generate and analyze financial statements
• Prepare and process payroll
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or the ability to successfully obtain certifications
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures
• Ability to correctly interpret and apply complete instructions, policies, and regulations
• Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion
• Analytical skills and an eye for details
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently

• Experience with Xero accounting software
• This office is an independently owned and operated franchise office operating under an agreement with H&R Block. Franchisees make their own hiring decisions and any questions regarding employment at this office should be made directly to the franchisee.

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
