Job Summary:
The Skilled Solar Construction Laborer supports solar installation projects by performing specialized tasks that require experience in construction and familiarity with solar installation. This role involves site preparation, material handling, and advanced assembly work to support the installation and maintenance of solar systems.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction sites by performing grading, trenching, and ground leveling to specifications.
- Set up temporary structures, fencing, scaffolding, and safety barriers.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, trenchers, and compactors (as licensed) to support site readiness.
- Efficiently load, unload, and distribute materials, tools, and equipment across the site.
- Assist in the assembly and secure placement of racking systems and support structures for solar arrays.
- Perform more advanced tasks in the installation process, including fastening, securing, and alignment checks.
- Work closely with solar installers and electricians, providing skilled labor assistance in wiring, panel placement, and component assembly.
- Perform quality checks to ensure all materials are installed correctly and meet project specifications.
- Support testing of solar systems, ensuring all components are functional and properly installed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including using PPE, proper equipment handling, and OSHA standards.
- Actively participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks, staying aware of on-site hazards and safe work practices.
- Report any safety incidents or concerns promptly to the supervisor.
- Use hand and power tools, such as drills, saws, and grinders, to perform installation and repair tasks.
- Assist with site restoration and clean-up at project completion, ensuring the site meets safety and aesthetic standards.
- Complete tasks requiring attention to detail, such as measurements, leveling, and structural alignment.
- Complies with all company policies.
- All other duties as assigned or deemed appropriate.

- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, with experience operating machinery like forklifts and trenchers.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems and mechanical assembly.
- Previous experience in solar installation, electrical work, or construction preferred.
- Familiarity with solar energy systems and technologies.
- Strong understanding of safety practices in the workplace.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to travel 100% to jobsite locations.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in construction, preferably in solar or renewable energy.
