Sterile Process Technician Non Certified
McLaren Health Care is hiring a Sterile Process Technician Non Certified to perform decontamination, cleaning, assembly, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and equipment.
Position SummaryPerform decontamination, sterilization, and ensure the sterile processing workflow and equipment is maintained.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, medical supplies, and equipment; follow proper standard precautions.
- Monitor biological and chemical wash solutions to ensure quality and consistency.
- Sort mismatched sets of instruments and trays, making them available to sterile processing clients in a timely manner.
- Restock labs, maintain inventory, submit requisitions, collect and distribute instruments, trays, and medical equipment.
- Perform environmental maintenance duties and assist with inventory levels in sterile processing, OR, and storage areas.
- Verify equipment functions, maintenance requirements, repairs or replacements, and removal of defective equipment.
- Assist with established departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, and infection control standards.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved sterile processing course.
- Certification required within one year from hire as a technician by the CBSPD or HSPA.
Preferred:
Prior experience in sterile processing.
- Expertise in sterile service operations, including equipment operation, sterilization verification tests, and accurate record keeping.
- Understanding of aseptic technique, decontamination, processing and sterilization techniques, inventory and distribution, infection control, and quality assurance.
- Schedule:
Full‑time, 08:00 am‑10:30 pm, weekdays and weekends, on‑call required. - Hours per pay period: 72.
